Rice Fields, White Beaches, Sunsets/Sunrises

We decided to take a two day road trip to explore the eastern end of the Island.

When we say we explore the back roads we explore the back roads.

 You have to get out in the country to find large rice fields 

for the resort and tourism actives have taken over more of the land 

in the southern part of the island.

Mt Agung -  the tallest mountain on the island.  It last exploded in the 60's. It is the most sacred mountain on the island and is the home of Pura Besakih, the Mother Temple. 

Time to take a break for a special fish lunch at the White Sand Beach of Pasir Putih.   

It is the only white beach on the island for most of the beaches are black volcanic sand 

and or stones.
