Rice Fields, White Beaches, Sunsets/Sunrises

We decided to take a two day road trip to explore the eastern end of the Island.

When we say we explore the back roads we explore the back roads.

You have to get out in the country to find large rice fields
for the resort and tourism actives have taken over more of the land
in the southern part of the island.

Mt Agung -  the tallest mountain on the island.  It last exploded in the 60's. It is the most sacred mountain on the island and is the home of Pura Besakih, the Mother Temple.

Time to take a break for a special fish lunch at the White Sand Beach of Pasir Putih.
It is the only white beach on the island for most of the beaches are black volcanic sand
and or stones.

Waiting for the time to go out.

Stop Talking Start Walking — The Path of Peace

A Good Morning Message from Made

Several years ago as we were sitting on our porch in Bali looking out at the mountains in the distance. When Made brought us our breakfast. He smiled as he reflected on the conversation we had been having. As we made eye contact he shared is simple wisdom in passing.

You talk to much about love, and energy and spirit.
Balinese do not talk about it they have a model that they live.

When things are in front of us that causes us fear,
we simply reach out and put our arms around the fear.

We bring the fear into our hearts
and lift it up and give it to God.

We continue to walk and live in peace.

With the completion of his wisdom he placeed the rest of our breakfast on the table. Looking into his eyes we became filled with the pure energy of love that he always radiated out to other as well as to all of life.

With the passing of time we both have learned to also follow this model of life. Our report is, It works.

Road Trip to Connect with Our Teacher – The Energy of Creation

Greetings - Today is Saturday 12 Sept 2015.

Our bodies have adjusted to Bali time, 12 hrs. ahead of Florida time. We are sleeping through the night and have passed through the jet lag stage. We both had massages on the second day, which removed the kinks from the cramped airline seats.

So this morning we set off on a back road journey to reconnect into the energy of life which is a Balinese key for living in the state of inner peace.

The Balinese believe that everything is created from the same energy and the same source. Thus as we mentioned before, the energy of life is their teacher.  For when they are in harmony with the energy they are in harmony with life as well as a Oneness with the One Supreme God — Peace.

To stand in the rice fields and feel the wind caressing our bodies makes one feel alive. As the same time there is an energy that embraces our hearts and makes us feel loved, full and complete.

Many say that Bali is the Navel of the earth and an entry point for the energy of the creation from the Creator to enter the earth. Thus the energy of life is more present and noticeable on the island. Therefor our first road trip is to the rice files, away from the crowds and congestion, to honor and connect into the energy for of a fill up. Once one has made the trip there will be no question but that Bali is the Navel of the earth and the energy ov creation is real. For when you leave the island something is different inside — a new peace and awareness.

One can not experience true love till they find and live in inner and outer peace.

Tomorrow we head up the mountains for our first ceremony at the forest temple.

My First Visit to Bali — 1991

My First Visit to Bali
Posting 11 Sept               by David:
I was awakened from my sleep by the crowing of the rooster, and the chanting from a near by temple, as the Balinese Orchestra of Life marked the beginning of a new day. I got up and sat at the computer. It was time for the next blog. My First Visit to the Island of Bali in 1991. Prior to my visit I had never heard of Bali.

Exiting the terminal onto the street I instantly felt and knew that Bali was, the Garden of Eden on Earth . . . it was real. The energy that surrounded me felt soft and Golden with the feeling of being totally blessed to be alive and living on this magical island.

Everywhere I looked I saw the perfection of the beauty and oneness of life, nature, as well as the people and God the Creator. Everything was in total peace, balance and harmony with what was around them.

The feeling in my heart was I was home.

Everything is in harmony with nature and life.

Watching the people it was as if they danced upon the land as they moved in physical  spiritual servicefirst to God, their family second and others third. Everything was done with an inner state of Joy — totally free of all judgements, expectations or agendas. It truly was an island of the we and us instead of the I and me.

Balinese live in Harmony with the masculine and feminine energy
within them self and others.

The Balinese live a special model for life that made me smile.
  • To live a good enough life so that when they die they will be instantly reborn again as a Balinese.
  • If they live a really good life they will instantly be reborn to the same village.
  • If they lead a really, really good life they will be instantly reborn to the same family.
This suddenly put words to an old inner feeling that I have had all my life. Life is a gift and we come to Earth to enjoy the gift. As I watched life being played out around me in Bali I added, Earth is where the action it. With a pause I added, and they know how to live it  . . . always in the state of inner peace.

The energy of life is their teacher to help them live in harmony and balance with all of life thus, thus with God the Creator.

Needless to say when my vacation was over there was only one thing to do. Go home  put my things in storage, repack my bags and move back to Bali where I lived for ten  years. I wanted to live in harmony with life like a Balinese.

The Balinese Orchestra of Life

Wed - Sept 9, 2015:   We arrived  in Bail around 2 a.m. today. That was exactly thirty four hours after we checked in at the ticket counter in Tampa for our trip half way around the world.

It was an easy trip. Everything flowed in perfect harmony with our needs. We are always amazed at how the Asian people are so courteous and always checking to make sure that you have every thing that you need to make our trip easy and comfortable. With a radiant smile they would then do what needed to be done to take care of our needs. Especially Korean Air.

The Day has been spent changing money and unpacking as well as an afternoon nap to get us into the Twelve hour difference between Florida and Bali. Around 6 p.m. we are sitting on the porch of our Bali home eating supper. The sun is setting. Being just south of the equator the sun always rises around 6 a.m. in the morning and sets around 6 p.m. in the evening.

Sunset from our porch

As we finish our meal we listen to the night sounds from the village on the ridge on the others side of the Sayan river that is in front of us. With a deep appreciation we listen to the chanting of the men and woman as they conduct a ceremony in the village temple as it blends in with the night sounds. Off to our right we hear the Balinese music of a Gamelan orchestra adding their energy for another temple ceremony.

From our experience this musical dance usually takes place each night. This instantly remind us that Bali is the island of thousands of temples. In addition the night sounds of the frogs and other creatures added to the temple ceremonies creates The Balinese Orchestra of Life that is always performing in perfect harmony each night throughout the island.

This blending of human and nature spiritual music creates a magical way to fall asleep. It is almost  as if we are wrapped in the energy of heart of the Creator.

The rice fields across the river from our porch.

Going to sleep in that beautiful state of Oneness with life we know that around 3 a.m. the crowing of the rosters will mark the beginning of the performance of the morning Balinese Orchestra of LIfe, which will awaken us to a new day dawning.

A conductor of the Morning  Balinese Orchestra of Life.

We will arise refreshed in our Oneness  as we begin our journey of exploring The Paths of Peace that the Balinese people walk and live on each day of their life.

Where in the World is Bali

We are almost ready to depart, thus this is our last post from America.

Our next post will be around 10 or 11 Sept.

As we get ready to travel to Bali people often ask, where is Bali?

Bali is exactly halfway around the world from Florida and is located between the Philippines and Australia. When is it 8 am in Sarasota, Florida, it is 8 pm in Bali.

The next question asked is, how long does it take to get there?

We leave Tampa and in a little over one hour we are in Atlanta.  Then we get on the big double decker dream liner of Korean Air and fly non-stop for thirteen hours to Soul, South Korea. There we stretch our legs for two hours and board another Korean Air flight and fly south for seven hours to the island of Bali.

Bali is located in the center of the archipelago of the thousands of islands of Indonesia. The population of Indonesia is over 255 million people and is the worlds fourth— most populous country and the most - populous Muslim-majority country.

Arriving on the island of Bali is like entering the original Garden of Eden on earth. It is the home of 4 million people who live each day in their hearts in the state of peace, love and services. Always in balance with the energy of nature and life free of all judgements.  It is often call the island of calm surrounded by the sea of chaos. The Island is approx. 50 miles north to south and app. 100 miles east to west.

Our home is located in a small village NW of Ubud, which is the cultural center of the Island.
